April Showers

I love rain. I love a light mist, a rainstorm, a thunderstorm, a lovely torrent and hurricanes, of course.
The best thing about rain, other than those fabulous frizzy do's and running makeup, is the props. Who doesn't jump at the opportunity to wear a slicker and rubber boots? Here is a smattering of rain gear suggestions for the mod girl in you.

Protect yourself from raindrops and landslides with a bubble umbrella.
The first, from Urban Outfitters is an exact copy of a vintage umbrella that I own from the 1960's and at $16 a total steal.

This red trimmed bubble umbrella is from Target and sold online only for $24.95.

Cxlondon.com takes the bubble to another level for around $20.

Rain boots, rubbers, whatever you call them, when it rains you need to keep your tootsies dry.
There is only one boot you need this spring and its the sleekest, most stylish rainboot around.
Meet the Aquatalia by Marvin K 'Wasabi 3' Weatherproof Rain Boot available at Nordstrom.

I suggest keeping a spare pair in the car so you are never at risk of soaking your Manolos or Minnetonkas, whichever way it is you roll.

There is nothing I love more than coats. I think I own more coats than shoes. Trench coats are a classic that never go out of style and look smashing with your rainboots and umbrella.
This Gayle ruffle trench from JCrew is on sale now for $99.

Burberry Prorsum's to-die-for trench makes me salivate but, with a $2,000 price tag, you probably wont want to wear it in the rain. You can purchase it online at net-a-porter.com

The classic trench from Banana Republic is onsale now for $159.
